How to apply to the Suzume No Gakko Program
 
 
 
 

We welcome you to apply to the Suzume No Gakko Program for 2018.

Suzume No Gakko requires parent participation for our program's success. Please review the Suzume No Gakko parent responsibilities. Based on whether your child is a returning student or new student, follow the procedures for the drop-off lottery.

Returning students

For those families who are eligible (returning students and their siblings entering 1st grade or siblings of former Suzume no Gakko students entering 1st grade)

A drop-off lottery will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. (Siblings [grades 2 through 6] who were not registered must register in the second lottery.) Families must be in good standing to participate in registration. Forms will be accepted from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m. in the Fireside Room at Wesley United Methodist Church, 566 N. 5th St., San Jose. Forms received after 7:15 p.m. will automatically be entered in the second lottery.

Please return the following items for the LOTTERY in a plain white, legal-sized envelope:

  1. Printout of your Online Registration Form confirmation email.
  2. $175.00 deposit per child (checks only; refunded if the child is not enrolled).

Families will be notified as soon as possible.

New Students

For new students and former students who were not enrolled in the previous session:

A second drop-off lottery will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, 566 N. 5th St., San Jose, in the Fireside Room. New families will also be eligible for this lottery.

This system is being utilized in order to provide all interested families and students an opportunity to participate. Forms may be dropped off by anyone you desire during the designated time.

Please return the following items for the LOTTERY in a plain white, legal-sized envelope (use this as a checklist):

  1. Printout of your Online Registration Form confirmation email.
  2. $175.00 deposit per child (checks only; refunded if the child is not enrolled).

Missing any of the above items may cause a delay, so please check carefully.
